Name(Required)

Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) is the practice of structuring website content so AI assistants and search engines can lift it as the direct answer to a question and credit the source. CICOR Marketing delivers AEO by writing extractable answer paragraphs, building FAQ blocks with one heading per question, adding FAQ and Answer schema, and testing each target question monthly across ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, Gemini, and Copilot. AEO is one half of AI Search Optimization. The other half, Generative Engine Optimization, works on your business as an entity.

Picture a homeowner in Wesley Chapel asking ChatGPT, “How much does it cost to replace an AC unit in Florida?” The answer comes back in three sentences, with one company’s name at the end. That company did not pay for the spot. Its page answered the question in a way the AI could read and credit.

Most service pages cannot be quoted. They open with a slogan and bury the answer in paragraph six. AEO fixes that, page by page, as the on-site half of the AI Search Optimization plan.

Who It Fits

Who this is for, and who it is not

AEO fits a business whose customers ask questions before they buy: home services, law firms, medical and dental practices, financial advisors, and any company that hears the same ten questions on every sales call. If you can list those questions, we can build the pages that answer them.

It is not the right fit for a business with no website content to work from, or one that sells on price alone with nothing to explain. If AI platforms do not know your business exists yet, start with Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), then come back to AEO. We will tell you which order fits on the first call.

PLANNING

Target question set

We build the list of questions your customers ask, from your sales calls, your search data, and the questions AI platforms already answer in your category. Each page in the plan owns one or more of them. The same list is what we test every month.

CONTENT

Extractable answer paragraphs

Each page gets one paragraph, directly under its main heading, that answers the page’s question in 60 to 100 words. It names your business, states what you deliver, and makes sense on its own if an AI platform lifts it off the page.

TECHNICAL

FAQ blocks with one heading per question

Every page carries a short FAQ section: one heading per question, written the way a person would type it, with a 40 to 90 word answer that starts by answering. AI platforms and Google both read this structure well.

LEADERSHIP

Heading structure and Authority Blocks

We rebuild the page so each section resolves one question and could stand alone. Headings name the topic, and paragraphs run two to four sentences.

FOUNDATION

FAQ and Answer schema

Behind the copy, we add FAQPage and Question schema so the questions and answers are machine readable. Where a page defines a term, we mark the definition too. Schema does not earn a citation on its own, but it removes the guesswork for the platform.

AUTHORITY

Monthly AI citation check

Each month we run the target question set through ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, Gemini, and Copilot, record whether your page is cited, and note who is cited instead. The results sit in the monthly report next to the work done that month.

How We Work

How it works

1. Month one. We run the baseline: how each platform answers your target questions today. We pick the priority pages and write the first batch of answers and FAQ blocks.

2. Months two through four. We restructure and publish pages in monthly batches, add the schema, and start the citation check against the baseline.

3. Month five onward. We keep shipping pages, retest monthly, and rewrite the answers that are not picked up. AI platforms update slowly, so plan on months, not weeks.

Your part is to send us the questions your team hears most and to approve each page before it publishes.

AEO and SEO: what changes and what stays the same

The difference between AEO and SEO is the shape of the result. SEO earns a ranking, a link on a results page that a person clicks. AEO earns a citation, a quote inside an AI answer with your name attached, whether or not anyone clicks through.

What stays the same is the foundation. A page that AI platforms can quote must first be a page that Google can crawl, index, and trust. AEO adds structure, answers, and schema on top of that foundation; it does not replace it. That is why CICOR Marketing runs both from one plan.

Why It Matters

Why CICOR Marketing for AEO

We do this work on our own site. CICOR Marketing publishes its own llms.txt file, structures its own pages with extractable answers and FAQ blocks, and adds the same schema it recommends to clients.

CICOR Marketing has worked in marketing and IT since 1997 and was building AI search readiness before AEO and GEO had names. The AEO method on this page is his.

If you also want a steady flow of new answer pages, Content Strategy and Learning Centers builds them to the same standard.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) is the practice of structuring website content so AI assistants and search engines can lift it as the direct answer to a question and credit the source. It means writing a clear answer paragraph, adding a FAQ section with one question per heading, and marking both with schema. CICOR Marketing delivers AEO inside its AI Search Optimization plan and tests each target question monthly.

AEO is different from SEO in the result it earns. SEO earns a ranking on a results page that a person clicks. AEO earns a citation inside an AI answer, with your business named as the source. The foundation is shared: a page must be crawlable, indexed, and trusted before either works. CICOR Marketing runs AEO and SEO from one plan so the same page does both jobs.

To get featured in AI answers, build a page for each question your customers ask, put a 60 to 100 word answer directly under the heading, add a FAQ section with one heading per question, and mark it with FAQ schema. Then make sure the page can be crawled and that your business details match across the web. No structure can promise a citation, so test the questions monthly and rewrite what is not picked up.

An extractable answer is a paragraph of 60 to 100 words, placed directly under a page’s main heading, that answers the page’s question and makes sense on its own. It names the business, states what is delivered and for whom, and avoids pronouns that depend on the heading. CICOR Marketing writes one for every page in an AEO plan because it is the unit AI platforms quote most often.

Ready When You Are

Write the answer once, and every platform can find it

The ten questions your team answers on every call are already written somewhere: in emails, in proposals, in your best salesperson’s notes. AEO puts them on the pages where Google, ChatGPT, and your next customer can all find them. The audit shows which questions you are missing today, and you keep the report either way.
