Tell Your Story

Every business has a brand, whether it manages one or not

Brand strategy and identity from CICOR Marketing decides what your business stands for, who it is for, and why someone should choose you, then makes that visible and keeps it consistent. The work runs positioning first, then messaging, then the visual system. You receive a positioning statement, a messaging framework, a logo and identity system when it is in scope, and a brand guide that covers logo, color, type, imagery, and voice. Every piece is built to be used on your website, in proposals, and in a sales conversation.

Your customers already have a story about you. It comes from your truck, your website, your invoices, and the way your front desk answers the phone. If you have not decided what that story is, the market decides, and it usually decides something vague.

Most owners feel this as small problems. The website says one thing and the sales team says another. The logo was made ten years ago for a smaller company. New hires cannot explain what makes you different, so they compete on price. That is one strategy problem in four places.

Brand strategy fixes the cause. Identity makes it visible. Guidelines keep it consistent. It is the first service in our Tell Your Story group, because everything else repeats it.

Who It Fits

Who this is for, and who it is not

This service fits a business that has outgrown its brand: a practice that added services and a location, a contractor moving from residential to commercial work, a firm about to rebuild its website and unsure what it should say.

It is not the right fit if you need a logo by Friday and nothing else. Positioning and messaging are approved before any visual work begins, and that order is the point. If you only need the visual side, we will say so on the first call.

DIAGNOSIS

Discovery workshop and competitive positioning review

We start with a working session with you and the people who sell and deliver the work. We look at how your closest competitors describe themselves and where the open ground is. The output is a short set of choices about who you serve and why you win.

PLANNING

Positioning statement, value proposition, and messaging framework

The positioning statement is the one paragraph that explains your business. The messaging framework breaks it into the pieces your team uses every day: the audiences you serve, the problems each one brings, the proof you can offer, and the tone you use.

CREATIVE

Logo and identity system

When identity design is in scope, we design a primary mark and secondary marks that work on a truck, a favicon, and an invoice. Concepts are presented against the positioning, so the choice is about fit, not taste.

FOUNDATION

Color, typography, and imagery direction

The visual system covers the colors, the typefaces, and the kind of photography that fits your brand. It keeps a website, a social post, and a proposal looking like they came from the same company.

EXECUTION

Brand guidelines document

Everything above lands in one guide: logo use, color values, type, imagery, voice, and messaging. It is written for the people who will use it: your web developer, your printer, and whoever posts on social.

How We Work

How it works

Positioning and messaging are approved before any visual work begins.

1. Weeks one and two. Discovery workshop, competitive review, and a first draft of the positioning and messaging framework for your review.

2. Weeks three and four. Messaging approved. If identity is in scope, logo concepts are presented against the approved positioning, with one round of revisions.

3. Weeks five through eight. Final identity, color and type system, imagery direction, and the brand guidelines document, with the final files delivered to you.

Messaging only takes about four weeks. A full build with identity runs closer to eight.

Why It Matters

Why CICOR Marketing for brand strategy

We build brands from the business out. Many agencies start with the logo. We start with positioning, because a logo has nothing to say until the business decides what it stands for. CICOR Marketing has worked in marketing and IT since 1997 and has seen the same brand problems across more than 50 industries.

An illustrative example: a physical therapy practice opens a third location and adds a sports performance program. The old logo still says “one clinic on Main Street.” We run the workshop, write the positioning around the full practice, design a mark that works across all three locations, and hand the team a guide. The website, the posts, and the signage then get built from the same page.

The same messaging goes on your website, in your Content Strategy and Learning Centers articles, and in your Social Media Management posts. One story, told the same way everywhere, is what makes people recognize you and gives AI platforms a consistent entity to describe. That is how we build every site on the Digital Authority System.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Brand strategy includes a discovery workshop, a competitive positioning review, a positioning statement, a value proposition, and a messaging framework that covers your audiences, their problems, your proof, and your tone. At CICOR Marketing, identity design and a brand guidelines document are added when they are in scope. Strategy is approved before any visual work begins.

A logo and brand guide from CICOR Marketing is quoted as a fixed project fee after a short scoping call. The cost depends on whether positioning and messaging are included, how many marks you need, and how much of your existing brand stays. Projects run four to eight weeks. You receive the fee in writing before work begins.

A messaging framework is a short document that states who a business serves, what problem each audience brings, why the business is the right choice, what proof backs that up, and what tone it uses. It turns a positioning statement into words a team can reuse on a website, in a proposal, and in a sales call. CICOR Marketing writes it before any design work starts.

Most businesses need better messaging first. If your logo still fits the business you have today and people recognize it, keep it and fix the words. If the company has changed its name, its services, or its market since the logo was made, an identity refresh usually pays for itself in clarity. The brand assessment tells you which case you are in.

Ready When You Are

Find out whether your brand still fits your business

The brand assessment looks at your website, your sales materials, and your closest competitors, then tells you where the story is unclear and whether the fix is messaging, identity, or both. It costs nothing, and you can act on it with us or without us.
